Cutting Board Class - Nov. 14-15, 2025
This class is for the beginning woodworker or anyone who wants to refresh their skills! You'll learn techniques for the safe and efficient use of the jointer, planer, table saw, and router table. By the end of class, you will have created a beautiful cutting board for your home or to give as a gift. This is a great opportunity to learn the basics of woodworking.
FRIDAY NIGHT SESSION - 6-9PM
Friday night will cover the basics of milling rough lumber into square smooth stock. Students will learn how to use a jointer to make a board flat, a planer to make a board an even thickness and a table saw to rip stock into strips.
Students will then organize their strips into a design and glue their board together.
SATURDAY MORNING SESSION - 9AM-12:30PM
Saturday morning will be all about making your board beautiful. We’ll scrape glue residue, plane flat, and drum sand smooth. We’ll use the table saw to crosscut the ends flush, edge sand, apply a round-over at the router table, and we’ll end with finish sanding and applying some board butter, our cutting board finish.
This class is right before Thanksgiving and will give you a great board for holiday meal prep.
